ABB - IRB1400 S4 Robot

The ABB IRB 1400 robot is a compact, fast and flexible robot designed primarily for welding (MIG and TIG), gluing, sealing and light pick and place work. Other applications include, spraying (NON EX) sputtering, metal coating, milling, de burring, grinding, machine tending, plastics and many others. The robot has an excellent reputation as a reliable and productive machine - over 14,000 have been installed. The arm design is well balanced, durable and has remained virtually unchanged for over 15 years, a testament to how well it was specified in the first place. A sucessor to the well respected IRB 1500 the 1400 continued with ABB's modular arm philosopy meaning that any maintainace can be completed very quickly. The arm is remarkable for it's simplicity and reliability, for example there are no cable chains and axis 5 and 6 are belt then shaft driven meaning that the wrist can be kept very compact which is very useful for welding applications etc.

The IRB 1400 is available in hanging and floor mounted versions, the latter being by far the most common. There is also a clean room version of this robot, although it differs very little from the standard version.

The IRB 1400 is well adapted to welding applications including TIG and MIG. It can be installed with anologue I/O cards and welding software that allow simple but precise control of weave, seam tracking, current, gas, water, wire feed etc. The robot can be fitted with up to 6 I/O boards each with 16 inputs and 16 outputs giving huge connectivity. Using the ABB RAPID programming language the robot is also straightforward and intuative to program.

We usually have several M94A IRB 1400 robots in stock as they are constantly in demand by robot intergrators around the world, on average we ship around 50 per year. We pick only the best available from factories where we know the robots have been carefully maintained and cared for. The robots are tested in manual and automatic modes and repainted to the highest standards before shipping. Our robots come with a three month warrenty.
