Roborover

Roborover appears to be WowWee’s 2009 successor to their immensely popular Tri-Bot robot which appeared first in 2008. The biggest noticeable difference, as you can see in the pictures below, is that Roborover has treads instead of wheels. Like Tri-Bot, Roborover talks, has a homing beacon on the remote control that he can follow, even in the dark, and can play driving based games with you. WowWee says Roborover has an “inquisitive personality” tailored to fit his role as an explorer.

Roborover’s personality starts out initially shy and “grows to be more confident” over time which is shown by changes in what he says and how he says it. This personality evolution resets when you turn him off or switch to a different operation mode. His sensor list included infrared sensors for obstacle detection and avoidance, tilt sensors that let him know when he has tipped over, and light sensors which will turn on his LED headlights when he enters a dark room or the room becomes dark. He has poseable arms, wrists, and waist and an infrared remote control which is how you control him.
